Introducing Barley, Brews and Barrels Tours

Join Matt Palmer from MyVIPDriver Adelaide, to take a day trip to Yorke Peninsula and embrace the 1st Winery/Cellar Door and 1st Craft Brewery/Cellar Door to be operating on the Yorke Peninsula, right in the heart of what has been regarded as the barley producing capital or the world.

24 people will be taking the bus trip with Matt as your guide and driver, leaving Adelaide CBD/Metro (Kings Head Hotel)  at 9.00am and making the 2.5 hour journey out west over the top of St Vincents Gulf and down onto Yorke Peninsula, in particular South Kilkerran and Minlaton, homes of "Barley Stacks Winery" and "Watsacowie Brewing Co", respectively.

First stop is at Barley Stacks Winery, South Kilkerran. Barley Stacks Wines is the first Commercial Vineyard and Winery to be established on the traditional barley belt of Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. Owned and operated by the Schulz family, the vision of the winery and vineyard was to transform the rich grey loam over limestone soil sloping paddocks into a vineyard, producing premium grapes. The Schulz family has a high level of determination, passion and commitment to ensuring only premium wines are produced.

Arriving at 11.30am, the friendly staff of Barley Stacks Wines and owner Lyall Schulz, will greet you for a TOUR of the winery and venue, along with a presentation of the history, brand and future vision for Barley Stacks Wines, followed by wine tasting of their range and a LIGHT LUNCH including pizzas and cheese platters.

1.30pm you depart for your next stop heading further south to Minlaton, and the venue of Watsacowie Brewing Co, another family owned and run craft mico-brewery and cellar door, the first of its kind in the heart of the Southern Yorke Peninsula also.

Here you enjoy a Brand Presentation by the owners and then indulge in a Beer Tasting Paddle sampling the range that Watsacowie produces, or if you prefer a cider, wine or soft drink, these are on offer also. Opportunity to purchase bottled and packaged products here is encouraged.

3.30pm you depart Watsacowie Brewing Co. and head off on your way home to Adelaide. An opportunity to take in the rolling fields of barley and other crops as you travel back through one of the most lucrative cropping areas in Australia. Arrive back in Adelaide CBD/Metro at 6pm.
